Description

We designed the 3M™ AQUA-PURE™ whole house water filtration replacement cartridge which is our replacement water filter cartridge for sump-style housings. Our whole house water treatment systems are sometimes referred to as Point of Entry (POE) systems and are installed immediately downstream from the water meter or well pump. A whole house filter that reduces iron particulate, sediment and chlorine taste and odor will typically treat all water entering a residence, protecting plumbing and fixtures while reducing unpleasant tastes, colors and odors. A water softener system will often be bypassed by a cold drinking waterline that provides salt-free drinking water. Regular maintenance of a whole house water filter system may be as simple as replacing a filtration cartridge every 6 months or arranging a service call. The initial expense of a whole house water filter system often pays off in the long term, because it protects pipes and fixtures from iron and/or hard water deposits and discoloration and it reduces bottled water costs. 3M™ recommends regularly scheduled maintenance. Cartridges must be replaced every six months or sooner if there's a noticeable reduction in flow rate. If water is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality adequate disinfection should be used before or after the water filtration system.
